Advertiser & Lending Disclosure

How Makwa Loans makes money, our relationships with lenders, and why that never changes what you pay. The full advertising and lending disclosure.

Makwa Loans earns money from referral fees paid by lending partners when we connect them with borrowers — consumers never pay us anything, and this disclosure explains exactly how that arrangement works. We publish it because you deserve to know who pays for the service before you decide to use it, and because honest disclosure is the standard we committed to when we built the platform.

The short version: lenders compensate us for introductions, that compensation never changes the rate or fees you are offered, and we are not a lender, broker of record, or credit decision-maker in any transaction. The longer version follows.

How We Make Money

Lending partners pay Makwa Loans a referral fee when a borrower submitted through our platform becomes a match or a funded customer, and those fees are the service's only revenue from the request process.

We do not charge request fees, subscription fees, processing fees, or "release" fees of any kind. If someone demands money from you in our name, it is fraud. Referral compensation varies by partner and by outcome — some pay per qualified match, others only when a personal loan actually funds — but in every case the fee flows from lender to platform, never from your pocket.

Why the Service Is Free for You

Using this service is free for consumers because lender-paid referral fees cover the entire cost of operating the platform, from the secure request form to the support team.

The cost of borrowing itself is a separate matter between you and your lender. Interest, origination charges, and late fees — all of it appears in the lender's written offer, and none of it includes a markup passed back to us. Comparing the total cost of a personal loan before signing remains your job and your right, and nothing in our business model penalizes you for declining every offer you receive.

We Are Not a Lender and Make No Credit Decisions

Makwa Loans is a loan-connection service only: we do not lend money, approve or deny applicants, set rates, pull full credit files for underwriting, or service loans after they fund.

Every credit decision belongs to the individual lender reviewing your request. A lender may run the credit checks it considers necessary, apply its own underwriting criteria, and present terms that differ from any estimate shown on this site. If you accept an offer, your agreement — and every payment under it — is with that lender, not with us. More about our role and team is on the about page.

How Lender Placement and Matching Work

When several lending partners are willing to consider the same request, the platform's matching logic weighs fit factors — requested amount, state, income profile, and partner criteria — and compensation level can influence the order in which willing partners are presented.

We disclose that influence plainly rather than pretending ranking is purely merit-based, because no comparison service that takes referral fees can honestly claim otherwise. What compensation can never do on our platform is change the terms a lender offers you, exclude a better-fitting partner from responding, or override your details: a partner whose criteria you do not meet is not shown your makwa loan request no matter what it pays.

Estimates, Examples, and Rate Figures

Every rate, payment, and cost figure published on this site is an estimate for education, not an offer of credit, and the representative personal loan APR range of roughly 6% to 36% will not match every borrower's actual terms.

Smaller, shorter-term products can carry higher effective costs than that range suggests. Example payment tables assume on-time payments and no optional add-ons. Your real numbers arrive only in a lender's offer, and that document always controls over anything written here. The legal framework for using the site, including these limitations, lives in our terms of use.

State Availability

Loan matching through Makwa Loans is not available in every U.S. state, because each lending partner is licensed or authorized only in particular states and product availability shifts as partners update their coverage.

If no partner currently serves your state for the personal loan amount you requested, you will simply receive no match — never a workaround that routes you to an unlicensed product. Residents of some states may also see different maximum amounts or product types, reflecting state law rather than any choice of ours.

Our Impartial-Content Pledge

Editorial content on this site — guides, explainers, and comparisons about personal loan borrowing — is written independently of partner compensation, and no lending partner reviews, approves, or edits an article before publication.

Writers and editors are paid salaries, not commissions tied to which lenders fund loans. When content mentions typical costs, both the attractive and the unattractive numbers are included. If we ever publish sponsored material, it will be labeled as such on the page itself. That pledge, together with this disclosure, is how a makwa loan request stays what it should be: a free tool working for the borrower, funded by the lenders who compete for your business.
